The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has an immigration path called the “Entrepreneur Stream”. It was created in accordance with the 2015 Ontario Immigration Act and associated rules. The Toronto Business Development Centre (TBDC) has changed the name of its pilot programme to the OINP Entrepreneur Success Initiative (OINP-ESI).
The Build Ontario program was introduced as part of the 2021 Ontario Economic Outlook and Fiscal Review. It was designed to help 100 immigrant entrepreneurs start and expand businesses outside of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
An immigration route offered by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program is called the Entrepreneur Stream. It was created in accordance with the Ontario Immigration Act, 2015, and its rules. Through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), foreign workers, international students, and those with the necessary qualifications in terms of education, training, and experience can apply for nomination as candidates for Ontario permanent residency.
The Entrepreneur Stream of the OINP is for international entrepreneurs who want to establish a new business or buy and grow an existing business in Ontario
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued 14 invitations to apply for the Entrepreneur Stream on December 22, 2022. All Expressions of interest (EOI) received by December 15, 2022, qualified for this round of invitations. Invitations to apply were sent out to all EOI applications that had a score between 140 and 173.
Applicants who received invitations did not have to directly contact the program as they received emails containing login information and instructions for submitting the application.
Expression of interest with scores lesser than 140 were informed that their expression of interest qualified for an invitation to apply but did not receive one for this round. Such EOI’s will still be eligible to receive an invitation to apply for 12 months from the date the EOI was submitted.
